The Explosion and Trinity Site\\
\\
The narrative begins with references to an explosion at Trinity Site and the Alamogordo Air Base. The text describes a premature explosion of materials intended for an "improved war weapon" that resulted in deaths among scientists and test personnel. This explosion appears to be connected to the development of television technology "among the bees" and serves as a framing device for the surreal stories that follow. The cause of the explosion is officially unknown, though an investigation is proceeding.\\
----
The First Movie on the Internet\\
\\
The text presents itself as "The First Movie on the Internet," a self-referential meta-narrative about cinema and time. The narrator explains this is a very long movie that viewers might not recognize as a movie because they don't see it, therefore it doesn't exist in their minds. This section includes both English and Japanese text, establishing themes of perception, reality, and the nature of moving images. The movie exists in a paradoxical state - it is both cinema and not cinema, depending on the viewer's awareness.\\
----
Books Within Books and Temporal Navigation\\
\\
The narrator describes reading a book that contains multiple books within it, each with "the thickness of volumes themselves with an interior void in which is hidden other books." The text can be read forwards, backwards, and upside down, suggesting a non-linear temporal structure. Pages are described as geomagnetically distorted, and the reading experience involves navigating through time in multiple directions. The narrator mentions that every book is "a clock of thought" and describes the experience of reading as moving through "the flip book of time."\\
----
The Stories That Didn't Happen\\
\\
The text introduces a collection of stories "long ago, some of which didn't happen." These stories are told "without those words that we don't know," suggesting incomplete or fragmented narratives. The stories are described as "painting word time light signs that float through the sky" that provide temporary knowledge in exchange for the ability to speak using "exhalations and words."\\
----
Blood Photography and Manchurian Cinema\\
\\
One of the central narrative threads involves "blood photography" and unique movies made in Manchuria. This section describes movie theaters in railroad stations under eclipse shadows, and mentions the "movie talkers" who accompany films to explain their meaning to audiences. The text references panoramic stamps used as money in Manchuria and the East-West Railroad system. There are mentions of the Manchu Edison Film Corporation and planetarium cinemas throughout the region.\\
----
The Movie Talkers and Telepathic Cinema\\
\\
During this period, movie talkers (benshi) would stand beside screens to elaborate on both titles and the meaning of images. The text reveals that natural telepathic abilities, enhanced by moving pictures, allowed these movie talkers to create additional pictures and stories inside the audience's minds. The narrator explains that "the two eyes of the telepath show two different pictures" and describes Earth as "a spherical screen, unbounded and yet finite." The rotation of thoughts in the brain creates dolls, and this same process causes forgetfulness.\\
----
The Central Station and Brain-to-Brain Dreams\\
\\
The narrator describes living in a train station on the Yemer River, adopted by "Manchu Edison." At night, through residual telepathy, the narrator traces dreams that pass from brain to brain across city streets, all originating from the Central Station. These telepathic experiences involve multiple voices splitting in the narrator's head, making them "several people at once in a Lost World with a transparent castle in the center." The narrator must visit a citizenship booth to get cardboard stamped, report which movies they've seen, and receive a family assignment for the week.\\
----
The Electrical Powers of Thought\\
\\
A documentary-style section explores "the electrical powers of thought" in relation to telepathic motion pictures. The electrical powers are described in "numerical number form upside down and right side up" and are transmitted by movie talkers of the Manchu Edison Film Corporation. The text includes mathematical and geometric descriptions involving planets, moons filled with "water and time and thoughts," and synchronization methods attributed to Henri Poincaré. The electrical powers are easily disturbed by "electrical negative positive danger."\\
----
The Projector Rituals\\
\\
Section V3_O-3_108 describes specific projector rituals involving lighting a planetarium projector to make the brightest stars visible on the ceiling. The projector fire "fixes the dolls where they are," leaving shadows that continue to dance. These shadows are controlled by "the comb of light," and the light burns bad thoughts. The practitioners clean spirits with "simple stories" according to a specific film schedule.\\
----
The Museum of Rooms in Shinkyo\\
\\
The narrator describes a Museum of Rooms in Shinkyo (the new town built where railroads join in Manchuria). The museum features dangerous moving buildings that roll through corridors on railroad tracks. Workers from the Department of Railroad Archeology constantly uncover buried railroad tracks in parks, which they then reinstall inside buildings. Visiting the museum outside of the rolling boxes is dangerous due to unstable windows and sharp pyramids emerging from corners of rooms.\\
----
The Mobile and Static Emperors\\
\\
The text introduces two emperors: the Mobile Emperor and the Static Emperor. When one dies, the other leads the search for the reincarnate heir. Each possessed sacred mirrors - one convex (a gift from Amaterasu Ōmikami to the Mobile Emperor) and one concave (which became the basis of Prester John's telescope in Samarkand). These mirrors were used to watch each other.\\
----
Anjelit and the Murder of Togo\\
\\
A narrative thread follows Anjelit, who encounters a scene involving the death of Togo. The scene includes a city streetcar filled with patient riders and Togo's hardening body. Anjelit meets a photographic assistant from the Jewish Research section of the Mantetsu railway company and encounters the Japanese-Jewish benshi Chay-yim Pollack. The text reveals that "the only way to leave is through someone's blood" and that Anjelit kills Togo, though "the murder is never reported" and "he doesn't know he is dead."\\
----
The Soy-Plague and Telepathy Experiments\\
\\
The narrative describes a soy-plague outbreak in Manchuria that strengthened human telepathy. The Iishi Company (Iishi Shinkyo Pure Water Company) conducted experiments to determine which diseases made people more susceptible to telepathy. The company built water purifiers for the Manchurian Army and churches, and adapted their technology to purify blood. The company was central to the "Strengthen Telepathy!" campaign and was run by Christians who sold test results by mail worldwide.\\
----
Religious and Mythological Elements\\
\\
The text includes several religious narratives: the story of Sister Jesus of Manchuria, nailed alive to a cross in an empty room at the top of a castle, who will never die. The Lost Tribes entered Manchuria 2600 years before Christ's death, and Sister Jesus eventually crossed the Amur River to join them, marking "the beginning of Japan." The text also describes Amaterasu Ōmikami, who lived on the Plain of High Heaven and whose grandson came from Korea to unify the Japanese islands.\\
----
The Translation of Shakespeare\\
\\
A surreal narrative describes how in 1921, a tree told the narrator to translate the works of William Shakespeare, claiming this would kill all people on earth. As the narrator translated "The Merchant of Venice," people died until only three percent of humanity remained, all gathered in Manchuria.\\
----
The Arrival of the Singing Tribes\\
\\
The text describes the arrival of the Lost Tribes in the form of "The Singing Tribes," who are 450 years late and arrive by "Time Paradox" either by boat or train. They sing telepathic songs, marking the moment when telepathy is transmitted to the world through "gasping mouths" and "beams of light flying across the sphere."\\
----
Henry Four Dimension and Automotive Magic\\
\\
The final narrative thread introduces Henry Four Dimension, Chief of Shinkyo Motors, who teaches the rational production of "Four Dimensional Automobiles" at affordable prices. The narrator becomes "an automotive wizard" able to pass through solid car doors, meditate in gasoline tanks, and experience perpetual falling. The text mentions experimental soybean automobiles and plans for "the great gathering" south of Palestine Mountain in the region below Changbaishan.\\
----
Temporal Structure and Meta-Commentary\\
\\
Throughout all these narratives, the text maintains a complex temporal structure where events happen "upside down and transpired as always between the pages." The narrator frequently comments on the act of reading itself, the nature of time, and the relationship between memory and forgetting. The stories exist in a state of constant flux, with the past, present, and future intermingling through telepathic connections, mirror reflections, and the mechanical reproduction of moving images.\\
\\
The entire volume functions as both a collection of interconnected stories and a meditation on the nature of storytelling, cinema, memory, and the technological transformation of human consciousness in early 20th century Manchuria.
