==== 1.12. Midnight Static over Tokyo ====
\\
(Location: Rooftop of Dentsu Building, Shimbashi) \\

**Description:** \\
At midnight exactly, the city below dims in uneven patches, like a signal losing sync. Judai and Juna, standing atop the Dentsu Building, adjust a tuning fork-shaped antenna. They are not listening for sound, but for resonance --- static that arrives not from the sky, but from old films dissolving in vaults. The television they carry shows only snow, but Juna insists it’s dialogue. Judai, squinting into the glow, counts five recurring signal bursts: three long, two short. “It’s a sentence fragment,” he mutters. Around them, Tokyo stutters in illumination --- windows blink open and shut like eyes unsure of waking. The sky above is clear, but the city’s memory is cloudy. Broadcasts never made now echo from future vaults, arriving before their creation. \\

##skyless transmission \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
They kept the antenna angled toward where no satellite existed. The screen buzzed with persistent grain. Each flicker struck Judai as familiar. Juna placed her palm flat against the glass, lips moving. She wasn’t reciting --- she was translating. Below them, the skyline shifted slightly, and the static formed a pattern like a barcode across Judai’s eyes. “That’s a title,” he said. “But of what?” The snow answered with a flash, just once. It was enough to confirm that the archive spoke back. \\
