11.7. The Room That Received Only Once
(Location: Listening Post 3, Komoro Southern Bluff)
Description:
Tucked behind a collapsed observation tower, this tiny room holds only a chair and a parabolic speaker built into the floor. On the wall: a dusty analog gauge, frozen at 97%. No wires. No logs. A brass placard: *“Reception Confirmed. Do Not Reset.”* Juna sat first. Nothing. Judai followed. Stillness. Then, from the speaker—a single breath, followed by the words: *“Your presence has been accepted.”* They waited an hour. Nothing else came. “It’s a room that received only once,” Juna said. “And we weren’t the message.” She left the door open when they left.

Very Short Story:
They returned the next day. The gauge still read 97%. Juna rewound her recorder, but the breath wasn’t there. Only wind. Judai noted that the chair had shifted slightly—toward the door. “It heard something again,” he whispered. But this time, the room didn’t answer. It had already spoken.
