==== 14.4. The Cemetery Where Antennas Grow ====
\\
**Location:** Mount Unebi, East Slope Overlooking Yamato Broadcast Zone \\
**Description:** \\
On the quiet slopes of Mount Unebi, where Emperors once walked among ancient cedars, antennas now grow from the soil like invasive bamboo. Each is slightly bent, pointed toward cities erased by war, tuned to memories no longer aired. Juna brushes her fingers across one---it hums with static grief. Some are tagged: “Nanjing,” “Shinkyo,” “Unit 731.” Each tag pulses briefly, then flickers out. These are not monuments. They are receivers for dreams unprocessed, guilt that cannot find format. The ground smells of metal, ozone, and formal apology. Judai hears fragments of radio plays---always interrupted, always unresolved. This is not a cemetery for bodies, but for frequencies. Buried signals. The air is not empty---it’s archived, alive, and in mourning. \\

**Keywords:** \\
##antenna graveyard \\
##broadcast residue of empire \\
##signal memorialization \\
##receiver forest \\
##static of culpability \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
They brought no tools, yet Juna found herself digging. Beneath one antenna, wrapped in foil and film leader, lay a VHS tape marked “Confession, Draft #5.” Judai held it to the sky. Nothing reflected. “It wants to be played,” Juna said. “But it won’t be.” A breeze passed, and the antenna near her bowed gently, as if acknowledging. In the distance, another signal rose---then folded. “The mountain is full of voices,” Judai said. “But no station.” They sat beneath one that hummed in F-sharp. It was the clearest channel they’d ever heard. \\
