(Location: Inner Atrium, Manchu Edison Sound Stage 3)
Description:
The soundstage is dark when Judai and Juna arrive — lit only by a hanging lantern and a circle of salt traced on the floor. At its center stands the Panchen Lama, or someone performing him, cloaked in a fusion of monastic robes and lab technician gear. He holds a reel marked CHÖD. Around him are instruments of projection and prayer: a light meter, a tuning fork, a bell. “I’m calibrating spirit with aperture,” he explains, his voice flat as magnetic tape. The Manchu Edison technicians nearby take no notes — they appear to be statues, or paused extras. The Panchen Lama invites them to watch a cut of a film not yet shot, one that predicts the past. The reel spins, but casts no image. Only sensation.

Very Short Story:
Juna bowed slightly, unsure if she was in a temple or a studio. Judai stepped inside the salt ring. His body trembled, then stopped. The Panchen Lama’s eyes stayed closed. “Don’t watch,” he said. “Feel.” The reel turned — and Judai’s memory of Day One rearranged. He saw himself arriving backwards. Juna fading in like a subtitle. When it ended, the stage lights came up, but there was no audience. Only echo.
