**Description:** \\
The rooftop of Saito Temple was reconstructed not where it stood, but above the station, aligning perfectly with the historical rail lines---an act of deliberate misplacement. From above, the old temple beams and cross-timbers seem to float on clouds of steel, resting atop air and transit memory. Judai traces the grain of one beam. “This one saw trains pass beneath it for decades.” But there are no records of such architecture ever existing. Juna watches the wind navigate through open lattice. The roof has no floor, no inner sanctum, only edge. Yet its geometry perfectly matches the old timecard gate below. A bell that was once silent rings each time a commuter memory passes through. They are standing in a shrine for arrivals that never touched ground. \\

They climbed the narrow staircase meant for maintenance crews and emerged into open sky. The temple roof hovered above the old rails, somehow suspended. Judai bent and placed his notebook flat on a beam. The wind turned the pages. Juna whispered the temple’s invocation backward. A low tone rang out from the bell below. “It answers the trains,” she said. “Even when there are none.” A young boy appeared for a moment at the far edge of the roof---then vanished. Judai checked the date carved into the beam: 1943, the same as the last departure before the bombing. “We’re not early,” Juna said. “We’re exactly late.” They sat cross-legged in the wind, waiting for the ghost of a train to pass through them. \\
