==== 22.3. Uniforms Without Rank ====
\\
**Location:** Storage Warehouse, Dairen Port Compound \\
**Description:** \\
In a sealed warehouse behind the Dairen consulate district, hundreds of uniforms are hung without insignia. Each is tagged with a date---none accurate. Some jackets are sewn backwards. Others have identical left sleeves. These garments were designed for surrender ceremonies never staged. The Last Arrangement Force was born here---a unit with no command, only choreographic orders. Juna picks up a cap: inside, embroidered words read, “Wear this when yielding.” Judai finds a photo pinned to a wooden beam: dozens in uniform, saluting an invisible presence. The air is thick with starch and false endings. In one corner, a mirror shows no one wearing anything at all. These are clothes stitched for roles that only history could fabricate. \\

**Keywords:** \\
rankless attire, surrender wardrobe, choreographed force, misdated clothing, invisible salutes \\

**Very Short Story:** \\
They changed into uniforms slowly. Each buttoned sleeve felt wrong. “There’s no way to tell front from back,” Judai muttered. “That’s the idea,” Juna replied, adjusting her mirrored collar. A voice came from the far wall: “Stand by for dissolution.” They turned---but no one was there. A camera flashed from the ceiling. They stood at attention. Nothing followed. “Do we march?” he asked. “We bow,” she said. “Then disappear.” Behind them, a row of empty coats raised their arms without wind. \\
