3.22. Refugee Camp of the Formerly Convinced
(Location: Hills Outside the Capital Memory Zone)
Description:
Dozens of tents stretch across a soft incline, all bearing the insignia of ideas long since renounced. One flag reads: *Hope, Reissued.* Another: *Rebellion Reconsidered.* Juna and Judai are welcomed with gentle suspicion. “Have you doubted today?” the entry guard asks. Inside, refugees from every forgotten ideology gather to trade memories, rewrite manifestos, and exchange secondhand certainty. Judai hears someone say, “I used to believe in continuity.” Juna attends a lecture titled *Conviction Fatigue: A Primer.* Posters line the tent walls: *This Is Not a Failure, It’s a Rethinking.* They spend the night beneath a canopy where once-clear declarations are projected in water vapor, always just out of focus. In the morning, they are offered coffee and gentle skepticism.

Very Short Story:
Judai woke to the sound of someone muttering, “What if we were wrong beautifully?” Juna sat beside a firepit made from burned position papers. They met a former preacher who now preached the virtue of changing one’s mind. A child handed Juna a badge that read *Reformed Believer, Tier 2.* They sipped tea brewed over hesitation and shared a story without conclusion. “It’s not about losing belief,” said one tent-dweller. “It’s about resting between versions.” As they left, Juna looked back. A new banner had gone up: *All Convictions Welcome, Temporarily.*
