(Location: Geodetic Marker C4, Imperial Park Sector)
Description:
The figure called Klaatu appears in multiple recovered stories from the war years: sometimes a scientist, sometimes a ghost, always a witness. At Marker C4, just behind the Imperial Diet Library, there’s a bench he once sat on—weathered, anonymous. Judai believes Klaatu survived by slipping into fiction. Juna finds an old Swiss clock embedded in the tree next to the bench, frozen at 11:44. “An unscheduled time,” she says. From that hour, all records become unclear. The geodetic marker itself has been relocated three times, but Klaatu is always reported nearby. Some say he arrived with the sky people. Others say he never left. The wind is different near the bench. You hear names you never spoke, in a language never written.

Very Short Story:
They reached the bench late, unsure what they were looking for. The clock was wedged in the bark, ticking slowly backwards. Judai ran his fingers along the bench’s surface and found faint inscriptions: loops, circles, a date half-finished. “He was here,” Juna said, though no one had proven Klaatu existed. A voice echoed softly—not through space, but through association. The sun dipped. For a moment, their reflections shimmered oddly in the marker’s polished plate. Judai checked his watch. It read 11:44. But it wasn’t broken.
