6.18. Folding Timewalk Through Interference Layer
(Location: Corridor X9, JAOC Frequency Lab)
Description:
Corridor X9 connects the observatory’s main wing to a frequency testing center. Along its floor are parallel white lines: not walking paths, but *timewalk lanes.* Each is tuned to a frequency—visible only through specialized goggles. Juna dons a pair. Instantly, she sees three versions of the corridor, layered atop one another: one with children running through fog; one with soldiers bearing telescopic rifles; one entirely empty. “They didn’t travel through time,” Judai says. “They bled across it.” The wall carries graffiti: *Reverberation Must Be Inhabited.* A warning light blinks: *Interference Present. Proceed Slowly.* They walk forward, and their shadows begin to double. Time, here, is not a sequence but a harmonic.

Very Short Story:
They stepped lightly across the white bands. With each step, the soundscape changed—a piano from one era, a warning siren from another. Juna tried to hold only one version in focus, but her body kept slipping across the others. Judai walked ahead, leaving footprints that blinked between boot, slipper, and nothing. “This corridor holds decisions we didn’t make,” she whispered. One wall showed a version of them turning back. They kept walking.
