8.18. Broadcast from Inside the Tunnel
(Location: Takasaki Interior, Soundproofed Ridge)
Description:
Somewhere within the hill’s throat, they found the antenna. No wires, no base—just a vertical rod embedded in granite, humming gently. Judai tuned the radio to an unlisted frequency and heard themselves. Not live—recorded. From a day that hadn’t occurred. “We’re hearing our future selves,” Juna said. The voices were clear, yet softened, as though translated through regret. They spoke of places neither had been, yet with emotion they could verify. Judai leaned in close. “This tunnel isn't just infrastructure—it's a forecast.” They took notes. The signal faded when they tried to leave. Only silence followed. But even that seemed to predict them.

Very Short Story:
Juna whispered into the rock. Five minutes later, her voice replied—through the radio, from another angle. “I’ll wait here,” it said. But she hadn’t said that. Yet. Judai paced, radio in hand, hearing his laughter echo from a moment they hadn’t lived. “We’re being mapped as possibility,” he said. When they spoke aloud again, nothing answered. But later, at home, their devices blinked a new file: *Record-Then*. It was 36 seconds of silence. Except at the very end, a whisper: “Don’t forget what you didn’t do.”
