10.3. The Shinkansen Excavation Unearths Time

(Location: JR Site, North of Takasaki)

Description:
When construction crews extended the Shinkansen line northward, they unearthed an ancient zone layered with magnetic interference. What they called “static pockets” were later identified as temporal cavities—echoes of events replaying in faint visual form. A railway switch shifts, then reverses. A frog leaps, then freezes mid-air. Judai places a sensor near a track fragment, and it lights up. Juna films the ground, and her screen records frames that never occurred. The excavation revealed not just artifacts, but instructions: how to build a train that loops time. At the site’s center lies a rusted wheel—part of the Image Dissector Engine that once relayed dreams from Takasaki to Tamagawa via mirrored rails.

Keywords:
##Shinkansen excavation site
##Magnetic time pockets
##Image Dissector Engine
##Nonlinear train signals
##Dream-routing instructions

Very Short Story:
They watched the wheel spin without power. Judai reached out to stop it and felt no resistance. “It’s running on memory,” he said. Juna aimed her book’s camera at the track. The recording showed them arriving before they had entered the frame. “Do we stay?” she asked. “Or have we already left?” The only answer came from a nearby frog, who blinked once—then blinked again in reverse.
